My journey to a healthier skin
Throughout my wellness journey I have learned that skin care is about caring! We all desire to have flawless skin, but honestly, we don’t devote as much time caring for it as we do exercising our bodies in the gym. So how can we expect great results for our skin - the largest organ of our bodies, when there’s so little effort for it? It turns out you just need a couple minutes a day of attentive caring for your skin to notice significant results with the oil cleansing method.
Before I share this valuable method, it’s important to highlight some aspects. First, taking care of your skin is not necessary about buying fancy products, it's actually much simpler. Let’s start with the basics; what’s healthy for your body is also healthy for your skin. So when it comes to skin care products, LESS is MORE! We concentrate on products made with the freshest produce in its purest state; nothing too complex or filled with unknown ingredients, just the basics as essential oils.
When I started with the oil cleansing method I was a bit skeptical, especially because in the past I’ve had problems with acne. I went and did my own research to discover that this process is millenary (like way back before soap was invented). My favorite finding was that oil cleansing is sacred in a Geisha's skin care routine, hence the reputation for having the silkiest and most flawless skin.
I decided to practice the oil cleanse method after doing my research and it has not disappointed me with its effectiveness. It has become the crux of my beauty routine. With time and practice, this method balanced my skin's complexion and restored it's natural glow without the need of any beauty creams or expensive moisturizers, just me and my essential oils! Follow this simple routine and you´ll never go back!
How does it work?
A second aspect to highlight is that oil dissolves oil. It can reach deep inside your pores and remove any dirt, make up or even sebum. Massaging it into your skin stimulates blood flow and increases oxygen in your cells resulting in a natural detox process. Add a hot washcloth to open up your pores for added detoxification! By repeating the washcloth step, you´re not only removing the excess oil, but also exfoliating, leading to smoother skin.
My daily ritual…
Why name it a ritual? Well, daily skin care maintenance leading to the healthy radiant skin you´ve always dreamed of, is a ritual! So in the midst of chaotic daily routines, try to pause, breathe, and purify your skin. Make it a daily ritual, something sacred for you and enjoy the results!
The actual recommended method:
1. First add several drops of your Oil Cleansing Mixture onto the face and neck. Gently massage the oil in circular motions for at least two minutes, similar to a Face Yoga session. As mentioned earlier, this process will also remove any make up from your skin, so you can now say goodbye to your old make up removal product.
2. Dampen a clean washcloth with hot water (play with the temperature depending on your skin type, if you tend to be more sensitive you should decrease the heat). Lay it over your face and neck for several minutes. The steam will actually open your pores and let the oil do its work.
3. If time permits, repeat the previous step 2-3 times. If not, simply rinse the washcloth and gently start wiping your skin. This step will remove any remaining oil and provide light exfoliation.
4. Rinse skin with cool water and follow with a good toner to close pores. You can also alternate this step during the week with an Aloe Vera Ice cubes massage, do not rinse it.
5. For those days you do not do the Aloe Vera Ice cubes step, use an Oil Hydration Mixture to further boost the hydration process.
